Dr. Dominick Hernández is currently an assistant professor of Bible at Moody Bible Institute where he has served for the past two academic years, teaching an array of classes related to the Old Testament, Semitic languages, and Second Temple period Judaism. In the fall, Dr. Hernández will continue his academic career as an assistant professor of Old Testament Interpretation and Director of the Online Hispanic Program at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
From 2011-2016, Dr. Hernández, his wife (Gaby), and their two children lived in Givʻat Shmuel, Israel while he completed his PhD at Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel) and served as an adjunct professor at Israel College of the Bible. Dr. Hernández is deeply involved in the academic community in which he continues to research, write, and present on the literary connections of the Bible and other ancient Near Eastern literature. Being fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew, Dr. Hernández has had the opportunity to serve the church through multi-lingual and multi-ethnic ministries in the United States and abroad. Dr. Hernández frequently preaches and gives seminars relating to the Old Testament and Judaism during the time of Jesus in congregations around the country.
